Dan Romeril and Mandy Evans were the first man and woman home in the Jersey Spartan 2 lap race ( approximately 4 miles) at Queens Valley recently. Footballer Dan Romeril won his first Spartan race after taking the lead as they crossed over the dam on the first lap. He then drew away to win in 21 mins 53 secs. Tony Banks just got the better of early leader Damian Maher for second and third places, 22.23 and 22.33 respectively.
Mandy Evans also posted her first win in the womens’ race. In a titanic struggle she emerged victorious over Sue Le Ruez by 13 seconds. Evans’ 29 mins 37 secs won her the ‘run of the night’ award. Le Ruez was second in 29.50 with Judith Russell not far away in third place at 30.19.
