JSAC Ogier Cross-Country – Event 3 – Report and Results

Congratulations to all those who took part in the third race of the JSAC Ogier Cross-Country Series.  It was a fantastic afternoon, in the beautiful surroundings of Beauport.  After the recent storms, we were lucky to be blessed with dry (if slightly chilly) conditions.

The racing was exciting from start to finish.  George Carney showed consistent power and pace to take an impressive win in the senior race by some distance.  And in other races there were more “runners of the day” than ever before.  However, the race of the day went to the U11G, with an incredibly close sprint finish between the top three (barely anything separating then) and plenty of other strong performances.

Thanks, as ever, to all those parents and family members who kindly marshalled – Tim Sr, Emma, Andy, Cliff, Amanda, Vaughan, Dan, Ed, Dominic and others.  Thanks also to Linda and Zara who ran check-in all day so efficiently, Tim as chief marshal and – with Lisa – for packing and unpacking all the stuff from the van, Gary the timekeeper, Judy on the finish line, Katrina for the start lists and results, Bradley for lead running the junior races and Rory for tail running and ensuring all our young athletes got round a challenging course safely.  These events would not happen without you, and you are the real heroes of the day!

We are also very grateful to the Environment Department for their permission, and also to Jersey Sport for the support they give the club generally.

Results are attached. 2025 02 01 Beauport results

These results are timed and recorded manually, so please bear with us if there are any inaccuracies.  With a flurry of athletes often crossing the line at the same time, it sometimes requires several pairs of eyes.  We are more than happy to correct any errors!
Next up is Pont Marquet on 1 March.  We look forward to seeing you there.
Nick, Matt and the XC Sub-Committee
