Jersey Cancer Relief Half Marathon 2024 Race Report
Race Report
While the weather did its best to dampen the mood, the Spartan spirit shone through and after an early morning course safety inspection, the race was given the green light by the organizing committee.
George Rice and Rosie Adamson were the victors at the Jersey Cancer Relief 2024 Half Marathon in association with JSAC on Sunday in windy conditions with rain threatening that mercifully didn’t arrive until the event was almost over.
Rice shared the lead with James Oliver, the flying postman until the bottom of Gorey, when he made his move and dropped his rival. Both Rice and Oliver’s times were well inside the qualifying standard for next year’s Island Games. A good run from Josh Brien saw him finish unchallenged in third place.
Rosie Adamson had a great run in the ladies race. In a rich vein of form, she slowly extended her lead over her rivals, winning in a personal best time. The runner up was Fran Monticelli who put in a strong performance, finishing second ahead of third placed Chantilly McCarthy who also ran well.

We are pleased to announce that together we have raised over £5,000 for Jersey Cancer Relief. We would like to give a special shout out to Taylor Manners, our biggest individual fundraiser, who raised over £600 for Jersey Cancer Relief. Well done Taylor!
