Race Report
There were convincing wins on Sunday morning in the Dementia Jersey Half Marathon 2023 for both George Rice and Olivia Shanks.
The race started and finished on the track at the FB Fields and passed through 3 parishes in the east of the island.
The weather was cloudy for the 9am start but when the sunshine appeared the temperature heated up making the race quite challenging for the competitors.
Runner up to Rice in the men’s race was Josh Brien with James Oliver finishing in third place.
Second position for the ladies went to Jess Troy with Fran Monticelli gaining the third spot.
There were age group wins for-
Paul Duxbury ( M40+ )
Phil Ahier ( M50+ )
Paul Bish ( M60+ )
Bernie Arthur ( M70+ )
Norma Mahony ( F40+ )
Sylvia Thompson ( F50+ )
Jane Bisson ( F60+ )
We are pleased to announce that together we have raised over £2,000 for Dementia Jersey.
Many thanks to all the sponsors, marshals, timekeepers and helpers in what was a very successful event.
